Because I don't think there's a person on earth who's listened and watched him and has not yet been changed. <3 Look him up, he's definitely a keeper. Props go to Mina for getting me and Lucia hooked on this hunk'a man. <33333

For a demo, here's a couple of what I think are his best pieces so far. Of course there is a myriad of other great ones out there, you just have to start looking. And you might also want to look into some videos of the concert he held here in Bucharest on the 25th of February this year. He was amazing! Gheorghe Zamfir was a guest appearance and they actually played a well-known Romanian song, called "Lie, ciocarlie", which is actually one of Mr. Zamfir specialties. XP It was amah-zing. Here's a sample: Ciocarlia .

For now, enjoy! ^.^

[[ the video for "The Star" <333 he looks like Keanu Reeves in some of the close-ups, don't you think? :P ]]

[[ the video for "Smile", in which he rocks that mafia suit like you wouldn't believe *drools* ]]

"THIS SATURDAY 28 MARCH AT 8.30PM YOU CAN VOTE EARTH BY SWITCHING OFF YOUR LIGHTS FOR ONE HOUR - EARTH HOUR."

And I did. Although mom and I were the only ones in our family actually interested in this, and although dad didn't care and turned on the lights as he passed through the rooms during that hour, I stuck by it. I turned off all my lights at precisely 8.30PM and turned them back on a little after 9.30PM. I may be just one person, but so are millions of other people all around the world. And like them, I chose to give the Earth a break. At least for an hour. I wonder how many others did it, and I wonder how the Earth looked like from outer space during those 60 minutes. I bet it was cool. XD

I know it might not have been much, but I hope it was a nice breath of darkness for Momma Earth, at least for an hour. <3

Fun fact: Romania is the only country in the world that has a website dedicated to organizing and promoting this event locally. Check it out (but only if you know Romanian, otherwise you won't get a thing it says XP): Ora Pamantului.

And you might also like to watch the official video. It says it all much better than I could.

[[ P.S.: I know I probably should have already splurged mountains of minute details and accurate accountings of my trip to Cluj from last weekend, but somehow, I don't really feel like it. And besides, I've come down with a cold the day after we got back, so I'm currently feeling even less like it. >.< However, if you absolutely really must know what happened while we were away, you can check out my sis' blog for a couple of bits. ]]

So I've found myself hooked on QAF...all over again. XD Sis has been watching the series from the start these past couple of weeks, cuz she hasn't seen the whole thing from the start and I got her curious (*feels proud* XP). So, inevitably, I got pulled on the bandwagon and got back on the ride right along with her. Which, despite the fact that I've already finished the series like, quite a while ago, is pretty refreshing. I'm re-watching most of the important episodes or scenes all over again with sis and it's actually a nice surprise how excited I still am about the series, even after so much time since I saw the seasons that she's currently watching. It's like I'm falling in love with the story and the characters all over again, re-living the excitement and the suspense of certain plot twists and getting bitten by the bug for the umpteenth time and by God, it's all so fabulously divine! XD *giggles in a very Emmett-y fashion* I'm having such a great time again! And one of the bests things is that sis, who was initially kind of reluctant to view gay men and women the same way that I did back then, is now kind of having a change of mind. :D

Of course, as a side dish to all of this is the fact that she has now started collecting the soundtrack and we've been listening to our most beloved songs on and on for the past couple of days and trying to pin-point the scenes that went with each song and swooning over the characters in each scene (mainly Brian and Justin, like duh! <333). =)) lol And also, the Local QAF Quote-reciting Contest is now being held daily, at random hours of the day (and sometimes night), with disastrous repercussions in the form of instant mad fits of fangirly giggling and even more sessions of crazy swooning (mainly over Brian and Justin, like duh <333). But as one certain famous playwright once said, "all's well when it ends in QAF", right? XD So all's well.

Also, I've finished the batch of "Skins" and "House MD" that Irina gave me over the weekend and I just wanna say this: Chris and Maxxy are just the absolutest fucking sweetest things since chocolate on a bucket, yeah? <333 Honestly, "Skins" is a MUST SEE. Like, pronto. Sis agrees. XP
And House...I just -- I rest my case here. XD House is simply beyond words. Like seriously. That man can make a fucking cane look fucking sexy, for real. Good thing Irina's got ample supplies still to deliver, so I'm packed full for a while. :D *showers luv on the girl for being my own personal dealer <3*

Now I should go grab some shut eye, but not before I sign off with the latest finding in the QAF section, one certain music video that I think you're going to like. Enjoy and good night! ^_^

Apparently, 'next time' came along sooner than expected! Ain't that nice? :D

So anyway. The reason for this post is to rant about the conference I attended yesterday and the movie I saw today. In that precise order. :P

The conference was a great experience. At first I was slightly reluctant to go, mainly because it was scheduled way too early for my tastes, but I eventually decided that it would be worth going, so I got up with the sunrise (so to say XP)and headed over there. The speaker, Mr. Tetsuya Kaida, General Manager of Toyota Motor Corp., was there to talk to us about "Art and Business in the Japanese Contemporary Culture", as the headline of the conference stated. The entire things is part of the series of events organized in celebration of 50 years since Romania and Japan re-established diplomatic relations. Mr Kaida didn't really know any bit of Romanian, and I'm not sure how his English was, so he spoke in Japanese the whole time and had to have this guy from his team translate, cuz he was Romanian (and a graduate of ASE, too XD). I can't really describe the entire thing, suffice it to say that it was incredibly entertaining as well as informative, and it was a really awesome experience. We saw our Japanese teacher there, too, and she seemed happy to see us, as well. Over all, it really was worth waking up that early. Oh, and for those who want an idea of what they missed, here are a couple of the videos presented: http://www.youtube.com/user/kurumafan.

Later that day, we watched Underworld: The rise of the Lycans and enjoyed the werewolves and the gore (lmao XD).

And today, sis, Roxane and I went to see Twilight in cinema. It really wasn't that much of a big deal for sis and I, cuz we'd seen the movie before quite a number of times and pretty much knew everything by heart already (Roxane, on the other hand, hadn't seen it yet), but we figured it would be a much more interesting view on a really huge screen, on high quality and with appropriate Dolby Surround sound to do it justice. And guess what? It was. <333 At least as far as a couple certain scenes were concerned, it really was worth every cent. We had the misfortune of arriving about ten minutes too late to claim our reservations, and we lost the perfect center seats we'd selected, but that wasn't such a huge drama when we were greeted by Edward's amazing topaz eyes and his glimmering diamond skin. Honestly, it was like...perfect! I could really see -and feel- the story so much more than I'd previously had on my low-quality recorded version I'd gotten off the Internet. And the sound - my God, the sound! I will never get tired of Dolby systems, I swear! Major love on those. <3

Aaaaand yeah. That's about it. Not much of a huge informative post, but who cares?! :P
And now I must be on my way. I need to bestow my darling Rae with the love and attention he so abundantly deserves, so I shall bid my adieu and take my leave. XD

Seeing you off, here's one of the songs that have been stuck in my head after seeing Twilight for the first time. I couldn't find an 'official' version anywhere, so I made my own. Enjoy! ^.^

haha gotcha, eh? XP

You can relax, I'm not dead. Still kickin', thanks. :P And neither is anyone I know, so don't stress.
I've just been completely wrapped up in...well, life really. It's crazy how things kick back into gear when you think you've finally managed to slow down the pace and enjoy your time, eh? Heh...And besides, I’m not into the habit of posting for the sake of saying something, even when I have nothing to say that’s worth an entire post.

So, anyway. A recap of my latest months is at least worth a post, wouldn’t you say? If anything, at least I can properly prove that I’m not dead, nor have gone missing.

College is being a bitch again, poor thing hasn't had any in ages and it's starting to take its toll. =))) But yeah, it's not really so bad. At least not yet. :D We’re gonna have to decide on a PhD subject soon, and on the professor we want to coordinate it and all that shit, which is such a major pain in the behind for someone who’s not the least bit interested in such matters (aka moi XP) but oh, well, I’ll live it through, it’s not like it’s the end of the world, right? ;]

I'm still writing, and it's going great so far, which is a major boost for self-confidence. ^.^ I've still got a looooong way to go before I can even hope to be satisfied, but I'm getting there. :D Fun part is, I'm still discovering bits and pieces of the world and of my kids every day, so that's a lot of fun to keep me busy. I'm not gonna lie and say it's all pink and bubbly, cuz it's not. It's a lot of work and a lot of bumps to overcome - God and sis only know how many times I've thought about the possibility that maybe I'm not cut out for this kind of thing, but in the end, I've realized that it's not even about me. It's about my Children and their story and about how I'm the only one who can tell it, which makes me personally responsible for doing just that. :D And besides, there's no rush. I've actually made a deal with myself to write a little bit every day, no matter if it's a page or an entire chapter. I used to think that unless I do like a gazillion pages a day, I'm never gonna finish it, but I've realized that I don't have a deadline hanging over my head and it's not like I have to please anyone but myself with this, so it's okay if I only write a bit a day. As long as I stick to it, even a bit it better than nothing, right? :D And also, a great saying once said: "You can't edit an empty page", so yeah. I'm gonna keep at it!

On another note, we're still not sure if we're gonna make it to OtakuFest this year, cuz we're planning to go to SakuraCon, too, with a couple of friends, and that will prolly leave us broke by OtakuFest (that is, if it's even gonna happen at all, cuz there's been some rumor about not having it this year :-S). We're not sure yet, though. There are still a lot of variables we need to figure out before we can make a decision, so....yeah.

I’m still hoping to get a BJD someday, and I’m still saving up for it, although I am aware that it might take a little over a million years to actually get one. :)) but that’s okay, too, cuz I’m in no hurry about it, either.

My black days are almost gone now, which is a great relief, to say the least. :D There are still the occasional episodes, of course, but they're easier to deal with than the longer periods. Writing has been a huge part of my 'rehabilitation', which is kind of ironic in a way, but I’m glad I now have better things to fill my mind with than….well, the others. :P And also, Lars is thinking about starting his own webcomic, so his joy and enthusiasm is a huge help, too. We usually spend hours online nowadays, talking about each of our projects, ranting and raving about all the huge plans we have for them, popping ideas back and forth and giving each other feedback on progress and stuff. It’s really great fun. <3 Another very important factor is the fact that I can talk to sis about the book whenever I'm not writting, or when I just need to tell someone about all the stories and random scenes that keep popping in my head all the time. You have no idea what a relief it is to have someone there to listen to all your wild crazy fictional fantasies anytime you feel like sharing. Real major sanity-saver right there. XD *huge hug for sis* <333 And then last, but not least, there are my friends over here, my wonderful, caring, brilliant friends who keep me floating everyday. I honestly have no idea what I'd without them to share life with. I owe a lot to my friends - all of them, abroad or...local, so to say. :P <33

Japanese is going good, as well, which makes me very excited. We’re learning a lot of new things at a much quicker rate than before, which is fun, albeit challenging. :P We’ve also started this ‘game’, if you will, where each week teams have to present something Japan-related to the rest of the class: from bits about traditional culture, to a more modern look on Japan, we have to each come up with something to tell the class about. Last week we’ve had two girls talk about the Visual-key movement and they brought pictures, info, even bits of songs from a couple of bands to exemplify the topic. It was so much fun. I was thinking of talking about cosplay when my turn comes, hopefully with sis. I reckon it would be very interesting to see their faces when we show them our cosplay of Rukia and Senna from last year’s Nijikon. XP And I was also thinking of maybe bringing in my costume, to properly illustrate the notion. Wouldn’t that be a kick? :))

I've decided to keep my layout for a while longer, after all. Yeah, so it's not exactly my style and it's way too pink for my tastes, but what the heck. It's kinda cute in its weird, girly kind of way, it's very neat and tidy and besides, cheery blossoms = ALL WIN no matter how you look at it! =)) So I think I'll live. :D

Oh, and also, I'm gonna be posting in English from now on. For one, because it's much more comfortable for me than Romanian (weird, I know, but you should have gotten used to my oddities by now XP and if you haven't, then get on it pronto!) and for the other, because I'd like for my foreign readers (however few they are) to not have to grow gray hairs trying to decipher what the hell I'm saying. XD So yeah. If you can't understand, grab a dictionary. :P Or just stop reading this blog altogether. I don't mind, really. ^.^

Anyway. That’s about it for now. Hope this is reassurance enough that I'm still alive and (reasonably) well. :D Until next time (hopefully in the not too distant future), take care, luvs! <3

I'm seeing you off now with a 2 in 1 of my latest obsessions: Blue October (long time runner XP) and Twilight (say what you will, it still won't change the fact that I like the books, as well as the movie XD). Enjoy!
